It’s yet another day full of new, not-so-new and buzzing music releases from around and about the Kenyan scene. Let’s get right into it:
Greggy – Dojo
Greggy is one heck of a smooth operator in his latest head-bobbing latest track in which he’s trying to convince a special type of girl to come over to his dojo for some Netflix and Chill.
ShappaMan – Love Wild Mixtape
ShappaMan has just released his latest mixtape entitled Love Wild. He describes it as being “about the love of life and the challenges we all face as we face the same through love. Love Wild is based on the fact that we all love to love, love to party and love where we came from.” There’s lots of interesting material in there, including samples of the movie Casablanca and one of Kenya’s most popular orators, PLO Lumumba. This is certainly worth a review later in the week.
Nuru – Lost In Your Love
Nuru is quickly marking a mark with a her offerings of refreshing music, notably Aba Na Mao, her collaboration with M³ which has recently gotten an equally good St. Evo remix. Here’s her latest release:
Monitah – Utopia
After the relative success of Barua, Monitah is back with one more of her simply and beautifully crafted love songs. Utopia has a really nice throwback hip-hop/R&B feel to it that will probably tempt you to hit that replay button again.
Janice Iche – All For You (Jinku’s Winning In Life Rework)
Jinku teams up with one of his regular collaborators, up and coming artist Janice Iche, for this spacey, slowed-down and mellowed remix of Just A Band’s Winning In Life.
Lon Jon – Drinking & Driving
Lon Jon has been doing well with chilled out hip-hop sounds (sample Grown & Sexy featuring Amina). Drinking & Driving is right up the grown and sexy alley. Good stuff.
